Battle Plans

Battle Plans is the main section in OrgBoat. In this section you’ll be able to organize all of your activities, appointments, and tasks in order to have a much better idea of what you have to do and when. Also, you can send documents and tag other people  in your company to assign activities or just  to share information.

All this data will be organize by date and you have the option to filter your information so you can find it quickly. In this same section you have other two options: completed and automated tasks. The first one is an archive of all the activities you’ve done and the second one it’s a great tool to program everything we do in a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Let’s find out step by step how to use each of these options so you can take advantage of all the tools in the best possible way. In your profile tab BATTLE PLANS.

You’ll find 3 options:  


Adding Tasks

ADDING ACTIVITIES In the space “What needs to be done?” you can start writing your pending tasks and by pressing “enter” the task will be added and you’ll see it right under. Here’s an example
As you can see, the task has been added.
You can classify your activities according to the job responsibilities of the profile by only clicking in the box that says “General” or clicking on Advance before adding the task.

Done! You’ve successfully add a task.
Now let’s see how to do other useful stuff with the battle plans.

Tagging Other People in Battle Plans

How to tag people.
  1. Write a task.
  2. Before pressing enter click on the “Advanced” option.
  3. Click on “team work” (You’ll see a list of all your co-workers).
  4. Select the people you want to tag.
  5. Click the “Require acknowledge” option. (This option will require the other person to acknowledge you that he or she have seen the task)
  6. Click the “Apply” button.
  7. Done! The task will be added to both battle plans.

Sharing Files

How to share files.
  1. Write a task.
  2. Click on the “Advanced” option.
  3. Click on “File Attachments”
  4. Select an archive from your computer.
  5. Click on “team work” (You’ll see a list of all your co-workers).
  6. Select the people you want to share the document with.
  7. Click the “Require acknowledge” option. (This option will require the other person to acknowledge you that he or she have seen the task)
  8. Click the “Apply” button.
  9. Done! The document will be shared with the people you tagged.

Setting Due Dates to my Activities

Working with Deadlines.
  1. Write a task.
  2. Click on the “Advanced” option.
  3. Expand "Time & Reminders"
  4. Select "Set deadline".
  5. Choose your due date.
  6. Select how would you like to be reminded.
  7. Click the “Apply” button.

Completing Tasks

When you finish a task that has been added to your Battle Plans, you have to mark it as completed. When you do this, all the information will be saved in the “COMPLETED” section
Stay Up to date on your records.
  1. Choose the Active tab in your battle plans.
  2. Click the checkbox on the left of each task.
  3. The task will disappear of your “Active” section and will be saved in the “Completed” section, with the date you finished the task.

Completed Tasks

Here is where you’ll find the complete archive of all the activities you’ve done by date. To search for specific activities you can filter by type of responsibility or by typing the name of the task.
Access your records.
  1. In your Battle Plans, click on tab Completed.
  2. Scroll down to see the list of all your completed activities.
  3. The task will disappear of your “Active” section and will be saved in the “Completed” section, with the date you finished the task.
  4. To look for an specific activity, scroll up and write key words of the task in the search option.
  5. Done!

Automated Tasks

With this tool you’ll be able to automate your activities, those that don’t change and you have to do in a regular basis, it can be daily, weekly, by day of the week or monthly, you choose.
Never forget a task.
  1. In your Battle Plans, go to you “AUTOMATED TASKS” section.
  2. Click on the blue “Add recurring task” button.
  3. Click on the “Job Responsibility” option and select the one that matches your new task.
  4. In the “Task title” section, write the name of the task. Ex.”Write reports”.
  5. Select the frequency you want this task to be reminded.
  6. If you choosed daily just click on the “Add task” button and the activity will be on your “Active section” everyday.
  7. If you choose “Day of the week” or “Day of the month”, now choose your “Due date” (Monday, Tuesday, etc. for weekly reminder) (1, 2, 3, etc, for monthly reminder).
  8. Click on the “Weekly or Monthly reminder day” and select the day you want this task to prevent you of your due date.
  9. Done! Your regular basis activities are programmed!
  10. You can always choose “Send email notification” for extra reminder.

Turning Off Automated Tasks

When you’re on a holiday or maybe sick in bed, you don’t want this activities to be marked as expired, or maybe that task is no longer assigned to you. You can turn off or delete your tasks in a simple step.
Turn it Off when you are not using it.
  1. In your Battle Plans go to the “Automated tasks” section.
  2. On the right side you’ll find the “Status” option.
  3. Click on the green “On” option.
  4. Choose “Off” or “Delete”.
  5. Done!

Expired Tasks

When you add due dates to your activities it means you have a range of time to complete them. 

When your task is about to expire it will be highlighted in a light yellow color to remind you it has to be completed as soon as possible. If you complete the task a day after your due date it will be marked in red and it will go like that to your archive, so make sure you complete your activities in time!


When we have several tasks in our battle plans it is important to
organize them and know which ones needs urgent attention or are more important than the other tasks. With Orgboat you can prioritize your tasks and filter them to only see the important ones in your battle plans.
  1. In the Battle Plans section tab click on the star icon located the left of each task  to mark them as priority.
  2. To filter ONLY the tasks that have priority click the big star button
    on the top filters section.
